Members of staff who performed their duty on the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday Friday 29^th April will receive the premium payment of £6.51 per hour they are entitled to. This payment should be in next weeks wages.

Annual Leave Availability

The Book Room is in the process of producing a chart that will display the available annual leave weeks and days across all shifts and leave groups in the Processing function.

London Mail Centre Closures

As you should be aware the London Mail Centres returned a YES vote for industrial action against the threat of COMPULSARY REDUNDANCIES. Detailed reports on this are on the Union board. On the back end of that emergency motion E6 was carried unanimously at CWU Annual Conference. Dave Ward DGS Postal and Bob Gibson Outdoor Secretary have been in talks this week with Royal Mail Management to negotiate a solution to avoid confrontation. The following message was received by email Friday afternoon.

Dear all
We have just reached agreement for further talks with Royal Mail. Please see the following statement. This will be communicated to the affected employees at 2 p.m. We will give you a more detailed update in due course.
"Royal Mail and CWU have agreed to further talks to resolve all
outstanding issues relating to the London Mail Centre Review. Talks will commence immediately and conclude by noon 13th June 2011.
To create the environment for these talks to reach a successful
conclusion, Royal Mail will not take any unilateral operational action and CWU will not serve notice of industrial action during the period of the talks".

World Class Mail (WCM)

There is a WCM audit in the Mail Centre on Tuesday 7^th June 2011 and the Model 2c Packet area will have all the floor markings renewed this weekend. Thirty hours of overtime allocated on the aggregate system is booked for Sunday morning to perform this.
